Largest optima battery possible in 2006 F150?

Has anyone installed a group 31 (the largest avail) Optima battery in their 2005/2006 F150? I am looking for the biggest battery I can fit in the stock location.

Thanks.

Just get a Yellow Top and be done with it I've got a Red Top and love it, however it is a little smaller (physically) than the stock battery.

Same here. The physical size of the battery really has nothing to do with its performance. I have the red top and its noticibly smaller than stock but its 900 cold cranking amps versus 650 stock. This thing will fire the motor before you can let go of the key on a cold morning!

Let it sit for a few days at 0*, and it'll crank a little slower... but waaaaay better than the stock battery

yep, love my red top. i can actually hear the starter now, and the truck fires stronger than it did. the mounting bracket that came with my red top made everything fit alright.

why do you need a big battery?

I have around 3000 watts of amplifiers in the truck. I know the smaller optimas will still be stronger / better than stock. But if I am upgrading I am going to get the biggest I can. The more current the better.

Try the Kinetiks batter maybe a HC2400, it's a fast charging fast discharging deep cycle battery. I have one in my Expy and it will be the last you'll ever need. Let me know I can ship ya one.

Kinetiks are strong no doubt.

But I went the Optima yellow top route. I got the group 31 to fit. It is a very tight squeeze into the factory battery tray. It, in fact, had to be wedged in a little diagonal. But it fit and I have it latched down.

Heightwise it fits no problem. The only issue was the length.
