Non-Homelink Garage Door Opener?

I just bought a 2005 F150 supercab. It has some nice features. One I can't figure out is attached to the rear view mirror. It has a single button like a garage door opener, but it does not fit the owner's manual's description of the Homelink system. I searched the site but didn't find any relevant threads. Any help would be appreciated.

I believe that is for the auto-dimming feature. Sorry, no homelink for you!

Thanks. And you're welcome for the giggle. But, nope it ain't that. It's attached in front of the mirror. It's black and has no name on it. It pulls off of the neck of the mirror and has wires that go up into the headliner.

Doubt it. My guess is remote start antenna (if it has a remote starter, that is)

A single button on the mirror, as in with double back tape ?

The compas antenna is the 2" x 2" black box, of sorts, hanging below the mirror mount.

The Mirror auto dim are the 2 photocells in the frame of the review mirror ( if equpped ).

It is actually a button stuck on the glass, or somewhere else on the mirror ?

How about a picture, that might help..

The homelink is on the driver's visor, 3 buttons in a row.

Sccully and others, you have solved the mystery. It is definitely a compass antenna. Thanks for the help. I hope you don't mind if I lurk a bit longer and learn some more.
