Question flashing light

i was driving into work this morning and a guy was infront of me with an 04-06 F-150 and his third brake light was flashing when he applied the brakes i was wondering if this was an option or if he had a short cause i would love to do that to mine I think it would increase visibilaty in foggy condition and night time someone help me out and let me know

It is a module that you splice into the third light.
Google flashing third brake light for a list of suppliers.

As JMC posted it is a module.

The one that a lot of motorcyclist use is the Kisan Tailblazer

The other big one is the Back-OFF Brake Light Module.

These are just a few in the motorcycle area that are big, I am sure there are a tone more then these 2.
