Keyless Entry Code ?

Hey folks,

this is my first post but I am not a newb to the f150, I had an 04 last year, traded it in on an SUV for the wife and just picked up a 99 f150.

My question is, how can you tell if the vehicle was equipped with keyless entry? It has electronic locks, and the previous owner said he thought the owner before him told him it had keyless, but he just lost the fobs. Also, is there a way to tell what code is needed on the key fob?

I did search, this was the only post close to what I was looking for, but still really no help!

Thanks for your help in advance

Download a manual for a 2001 F150, and try the programming procedure in the manual, for additional transmitters.

The '99 OM procuedure is to take it to the dealer, but if memory serves me correctly, the same procedure in the 2001 OM works on the '99 MY F-150s.

If your talking about the keypad on the drivers door, then get down by the brake pedal and look up under the dash. Should see the box, can't recall if it says theft or keyless on it but there is a code number on the outside of it. Try those number on the door and see if it works.

Follow the RKE programming instructions in a newer MY OM. If you get the confirmation that it entered programming mode, it has them.

I don't know if '99 used the same RKE module as the '00 and newer MY trucks, but you could look for the RAP module under the dash. This is what RacingJake posted about.
Picture of where to look under the dash :

The white-ish / cream colored module is what you should see. There should be 5 digits on it, if it is the same as '00 and newer MY trucks. On the left side of this picture is the parking brake ratchet gear.

Easiest way to find out if the RKE is in it, is still to follow the procedure, and if you get the confirm, they are installed, waiting to be programmed. You can buy replacement Fobs online, if you don't alreay have them.
