Extend Keyless Entry Remote Range?
Extend Keyless Entry Remote Range?
Is there a way to extend the keyless entry remote range? Is there any aftermarket products that has them run on a different frequency that would allow it to operate at a greater distance or through walls? This would also be great for someone that parks at a large parking lot and wants to find their vehicle by honking the vehicle's horn until its found.
A remote start and alarm would do it,the range on them is great. My truck has the FORD GOLD and it go's through a steel rollup door and around a brick building too start it.Has about 2 block range or so.Some units have longer range then mine,so check them out to see what range you want it too have.
yah you have to go to aftermarket to step up the range. I know sometimes these factory ones suck. If you havent replaced the battery in it in the last couple years, it may be time to do that too.

You probably won't believe this one until you try it out but...
Put the little keychain transmitter thingy right up under the point of your chin, pointing up, and pressed firmly against the bone and it'll give you about 30 extra feet! I have no idea what it's doing to your brain (if you still have one), but I'm telling you, it works!

As far as the chin thing goes it's true because the remote transmits on basic RF just like a TV ant. When you grab the tv ant. it uses your body as an ant. and you get better reception. You hold your keyless entry remote to your chin it uses your body as an ant. and sometimes will give you up to 1/3 more range. And don't worry about the big lump that starts to grow on your chin after five years. Also check to see what battery it takes. Alot of them take a 2032 battery that is 3 volts, you can replace that with (2) 2016 batterys and jump the remote to 6 volts. I do that in all my DEI remot starters and that takes the range on those from 1000 feet to about 1500 feet.
