Blinking Red Light - Bizzare
My truck is a 2005 SuperCrew Lariat. You know that little red LED on the drivers side of the dash that blinks red when the truck is parked? Well, last night while driving on a dark country road, the damn thing came to life for about 2 seconds, glowing steady (I think) and maybe blinked once or twice, then went out. I have no idea what that was all about. Anyone here know?

That happened to me once and also sounded the alarm for about 15 seconds.
The only concluson I came to was that down the road a short distance, coming toward, me was a dump truck that I know the driver. He was on his ham radio talking as he passed.
I figured maybe the PATS reciver picked up his signal for a short time.
Never happened again.
Going beyond to other things, the PATS system has communciations with the computer such that they interact.
The PATS is able to display fault codes by blinking the lamp. The PCM can also set certain codes asociated with PATS and is read with a scanner..
