power window problems

I have a 1998 f150 that started having intermittent power window problems. Sometimes both windows work fine then passenger side may stop working...then passenger side will work and driver side will stop....then both may stop...then they may come in and out in no certain order. When they work they seem to work fine, just the intermittent thing. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had the same problem, and this helped me. Remove the switches from the door and spray inside of switch real good with WD-40 or electrical parts cleaner, let dry and reinstall. Over time they gunk-up inside and start to stick.

If you have the owners manual, refer to the fuse guide. If you look at your fuse panel, youll notice the fuses, also some larger box shaped fuses. These are relays. If you have a faulty window relay, this could be the issue. Relays are a couple bucks at your favorite auto parts retailer
I believe you have a better chance of winning the lottery AND a lifetime pass to the Playboy mansion, than both motors going out on you simeotaneously.
