Power windows and dome light inop
Power windows and dome light inop
Need some help here...Just removed/reinstalled the dash in my 99 F150 (had to replace the heater core). What a job! Well the heater core is fixed, but now my power windows and dome light are inop. I checked/rechecked all the connectors and all seem to be connected. Any ideas?
I'm having a similar problem, except it seems mine is more involved. I have no interior lights (doors, dome, reading lamps), no turn signals, no power windows, and my keyless entry will not work. I was playing with some fuses yesterday trying to hook up a trailer and now I lost all that stuff. Anyone had this specific fuse / relay go before and which is it? I'm on my way to go to Autozone for a fuse kit with tester. Vehicle is a 99 F150 5.4L. Thanks!

I figured out my problem...As it turns out it was very similar to yours. That is, no dome light, glove compartment light, under hood light, power windows or door locks. As I stated in my original post, my problem started after I removed and reinstalled the dash. Part of my problem was the keyless entry. It was an after market install right after I bought the truck in 1999. To aid in my troubleshooting of the problem, I ended up removing it. As it turns out, there were only two wires that were cut and routed through the keyless box and two or three that were tapped into. I disconnected the keyless wires and reconnected the stock wires. Once I did that, the door locks were operational again.
The final fix for my problem was fuse #14 (15 amp) in the truck cab was blown. This fuse was the third one down in the middle row of fuses. I'm not sure how it blew. I did accidently connect one connector during my dash installation and didn't notice until after I applied electrical power (probably blew then).
Now everything works fine. Next step is to get another aftermarket keyless entry installed. Maybe your problem is as simple as mine (blown fuse).
