No Headlights/Dome, No Horn, No Buzzer
No Headlights/Dome, No Horn, No Buzzer
I have a 1991 f150 and a couple days ago while driving at night my headlights flickered, then went out completely. I pulled over and got them to come on once, but when I was ready to leave they wouldn't come back on and I had to leave the vehicle for the night. I also noticed the dome light stopped working and the buzzer (when the key's in and the door's open) wasn't working. The next day I discovered the horn doesn't work, either.
I read on here to try wriggling the steering wheel and that did result in the buzzer buzzing for 10 seconds or so when I first put in the key, but still no headlights, dome light or horn.
The radio hasn't worked for years, the ashtray is missing and I don't have power windows. My blinkers and brake lights work. I took it to a parts store and the employee checked the fuses and the relay switch and they seem to be okay (assuming he knew what he was doing). I have no problem starting the truck.
If anyone has any ideas what the problem might be or has experienced something similar, I would appreciate your input. Thank you.

I would check the fuses again yourself, in the cab and engine compartment. Pull them, check the contacts and if they are corroded try and clean them or just put in new ones. If all those things are not working, my first suspision would be a fuse.
If all the fuses are in good shape, I might suggest checking all your wiring harnesses. Pop the hood, tear apart the dash, and see if all the harnesses are plugged all the way together. I (In my moms van if the wipers wouldnt come on you had to pop the hood and shove the harnesses back together.)
Because you have four things not working it most likely is a fuse or harness.
If you dont find you problem there, grab a multimeter and check all you wires, you might have a cracked wire that is shorting itself out when it moves a certain way. Hence the flickering of the lights. Thats all I can think of for now. Try those, and see if anything happens.
Before you start make sure the rest of your electrical is working, the wipers, heater, ac, and see if anything else is not operational.
Check your owners manual and see what fuse each of the lights/horn are using and if they all have a fuse in common.
I'll check back in a few days. Good luck.
