howdy all: trcuk is a 2000 f150 ext cab 4x2. the location im thinking of is to the left of the radio is a air duct, just under it is a panel that would house the 4x4 selector but since mine is a 4x2 it is vacant, has anyone ever used this to house a switch?? and how tough is this panel to remove. Sscully has shown me a pic of where he put his and im still thinking of useing his suggection, but am always interested in other ideas. thanks in advance gang.

SSCully i got the fog light kit in today looks pretty straight foward, they do use a differant toggle switch than the factory dash one, but its ford add-on switch with bosch relay, i think im just gonna put the lights on this switch and not worry about the hi-low beam or anything, here in remote oklahoma no one will ever worry about it to many deer in the road at night...

i also have the driving lights on my Wing setup on a toggle for the same reason.

the cover pops off. just pry it out and pull it off. you can see the 4 clips that hold it on.

i took mine off to wire my XM to the radio for power.

That location would work fine. Didn't see the part where the Fod add on kit is using a different switch now in your email ( sorry about that ).

That space would wrok fine for the switch location. I would think it is easy to route the wire, but I am having problems recalling how the wire route would be ( sure you can find that one yourself, not too hard with a piece of 12 AWG sol wire ).
Nice part, no need to worry about trying to miss the metal behind the anti submarine panel for the dash support, if you are in the area of the stock 4x4 selector switch.

With the switch beign seperate now, this removes the need for the ramp job on the main headlamp switch, to have the fogs on at all times, much easier install.

I know what you are talking about, my '88 Wing with the Tusla bracket and PIAA lamps, and the Kawi ZG are both plain old switches, so they will run anytime the bike is running, regardless of the headlamp postion.
Tulsa ( something ) I think is the name of the add on ( like Markland ) from the wing / Valk assy, guy in MI ( forgetting his name at the moment also ).

Another less conspicuous spot that has worked well for me is on either side of the steering column. The plastic U shaped trim piece is easily removable with the same type of plastic clips. I have mounted gauges on both sides. It's very easy to wire in and out.....

 

That is the area that Troy was first talking about. Need to miss the metal behind them, and I know my constant run illuminated switch was blocked by the steering wheel spokes where it was mounted, when traveling in a straight line.
