I have a 98 f-150 4x4 xl model. All of the dash lights went out and i am having a horrible time getting my dash apart to get them replaced. any advise will help.

i also have an issue on my 4 wheel drive not engaging at all i can pull the lever into 4 high but no 4x4
do i need to go into the other section for this

 

Little clarification needed. Are you implying that ALL of your bulbs burned out at the same time? Or just a couple are out and you need to replace those? If it's the first scenario, you either have problems with getting power to the cluster, or getting ground at the cluster. As for the second scenario, do a search for intermittent odometer. Someone gave a step by step to get the cluster out.

Sorry, can't help ya on the 4 wheel drive issue besides checking the linkage.
