I want to replace the 110 amp alternator in my 2005 F150 XLT with a higher amp output alternator. (Too many aftermarket add ons)
I cant seem to find anything for it. After some research I found that the 2005FX4's come w/a 130 amp from the factory. Will this bolt up to mine and work ok? My truck is the 5.4 3v.
The dealership cant seem to figure this out.

Actually thats a replacement for the 4.6 Mine is the 5.4.

I can get a great deal on the one from the factory through a friend at the dealer if anyone knows if what I proposed will work.

 

Are you sure of your amp size? I was looking at the window sticker for my 2004 STX and even though it came with no factory power options, it had a 130 amp alt stock from the factory.
