Relays

I just went to start my 2000 F150 and it was dead, but the wierd thing is that the light in under the hood was flashing. Relay #2 in the fuse box was clicking. Does that mean the relay is bad or just the battery is dead? Nothing eles works when the key is on like the accessories.. Anyone got any ideas? Also the interior lights flash on and off when the door is opened

Start out with, what is the voltage on the battery ?

There could be a low voltage problem, causing the Battery saver relay not to work correctly ( cuasing the symptoms above ) or a problem with the battery saver relay itself, causing the same problems.

Sorry, need to know what the voltage is of the battery at rest, to know where to start to look.

If you can do a little trouble shooting like SCULLY says you can save some money. I would start by cleaning the battery connections and checking the battery voltage. Since your battery is 5 or 6 years old it would not exactly be like throwing money away but could be considered preventive maintenance. As batterys get old they lose there cranking amps.
