Power Window problem
I have a '98 f-150 where the driver side power window looses it umph half way down. Sometime I have to give it a little help by pushing the window down an inch or so and then the motor will take over again. Since the motor appears to be working, I was just wondering if there could be something dragging on the window just hard enough to slow it down or stop it. Taking the window up is not an issue.
Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue before and what you did to resolve the problem so I am not flying blind.

Sounds like the track is binding up for some reason.
Take off the door panel, so you can inspect the X-brace moving up and down, to see if it is bent or just dirty.
If the motor seems to work fine most of the travel, I would think dirty hinge points or similar to that first off.
When you have the door panel off, clean out the pivot points, and re-grease it, to see if that helps. Also check the window track both front and rear for obstructions ( something got down into the track from operating the window ?? ).
That would be my first thought on where to look, someone else mioght be along to give better input, or what they did with the same problem..

I don't know if I would give the motor a pass. Last few times I've had motors fail, they would seem to be fine, then would stop. A little force and they would start again. Flat spots inside the motor. Replacing the motor cured that.
