Need Urgent Help!
I was in a recent wreck and my F150 has been actig up ever since. Sometimes when I try to start the truck up, nothing will happen. I put the key in, then forward, all the lights in the dash turn on, but when I crank it, they all turn off and the starter makes no noise. This happens all the time now. The only way I have found to make it run has been to disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes then it will start. The truck will go through about 5-7 cycles without a problem but then this will happen. Can yall help please, Im tired of always disconnecting the battery to start her up. Thank you in advance.
Too little info, but the description sounds like a bad battery connection.
Classic description;
Dome light works.
cluster lights up.
When you turn key to start, everything goes out like a switch was thrown.
When you let up on key, slowly the cluster lights back up.
Your description sounds pretty close to that.
Check the cables, terminals, both ends of each one. Be sure your engine grounds are still on and tight.
Possibly bad battery. Shock can break the post loose internally.
