Alarm won't stop after reinstalling battery

I have a 2001 F150 SuperCrew with a factory installed alarm. When I remove the battery and install a new one, the alarm will not shut off! I have to disconnect the juice to stop it.

Any advice?

Before hooking up the battery, place the key in the ignition and turn it to the run position. Then hook up your battery and it should be ok. Good Luck!

It's a built in "safety" feature
