Taillights

I have a 1997 F-150. Interesting problem. When I turn on my headlights, the tail lights do not come on. The brake and turn lights work, but not the tail lights. I have tried the fuses that seemed to be designated to the tail lights but no luck. Has anybody had this problem? Any idea of cause? and what fuse would it be? Any advice would be much appreciated.

had this happen on my 98 F150... the connector that goes into the multi switch in the column (that controls tail lights, turn signals, wipers, high beams, brake lights, etc) had a pin pull out... the wiring harness was routed very tightly and when i'd tilt the wheel it'd stress the connector... since i am not of large stature i can generally leave the wheel down.. when i put it all of the way up is when the problem occurred...

I have a 1998 f150 4x4, the other day on my way home from work the dash lights and parking lights went out. I checked the fuses and they were all good, and i bought a new light switch and that is not the problem. Thanks
