Burned out LED power window switch!

I did a search, but couldn't come up with anything about this, but I know its been discused though but can't find the topics.

This is on an 02 Mountaineer but I'm sure the same switch is the same as all other ford Vehicals. I noticed tonight that one of my power down window switches the LED bulb is burned out.

any easy way to fix this? how do you go about fixing it, and a price about???

yes, all of them work, but just on one switch the LED light burned out, so I have 3 window switches that light up, and one now thats burned out.

do you know if you can replace the LED or do you have to buy a hole new switch?

Judging from the 04 F150 Ford electrical shop manual those LEDs look to be part of the switch assembly. There no sign of a connector to the leds. So it looks as if the whole switch will have to be replaced. The shop manual acts like you just pop of the cover take out the switch assemble and unplug it. Good luck.

Just amke sure you get the part number off the switch itself. A lot of part guys ( those on comission ) will try to sell you the whole assembly instead of the switch telling you they can't look up just the switch. But if you have the part number they can back trace ANY ford part number... even if they donm't want to.

Usually it's stampped right on the switch itself, once in a while it's a sticker. If there is a mounting clip it may be under that.

Then again you may not need it. Call into the parts counter and see what kind of response you get. If they won't, call another dealership, then there's always the salvage yards...

You can also send an email to Jerry at www.oemfordparts.com. I have had him look up tons of stuff for me, and their prices are reasonable, with reasonable shipping.
This way no BS with the parts counter guys, an email, and fill out the web page, 2 to 3 days later, the correct part is sitting at your front door.

Take a search over to www.4x4central.com. There's a write-up over there that explains the repair process.
