Daytime Running Light Module

I have an '03 Canadian F150Screw with DRL which didn't come with driving lights but I have the Lightning valence now with driving lights. Of course all of the wiring and connectors are there but with the regular headlight switch. I was planning to hook the output from the Autolamp position (green/red) to the output from the foglamp switch (yellow) so they went on in the autolamp position and the headlights would go on as normally called for by the autolamp system. Sort of like a poor man's DRL system for the driving lights (but on full wattage). Then I started thinking, I have a DRL module for the headlights which I have disconnected and wondered if I could hook it up to the driving light circuit to use them as DRLs instead of the headlights. What are the thoughts on this?
Also, the driving lights that I have are 55w ones and I believe the stockers were only 42w so if these were on all the time would that be too much for the wiring harness or headlight switch? I'd prefer to skip using relays unless I have to.

If anyoine is intersted, I ended up hooking up the driving lights to the park light circuit as described in tech article for the 2000 SVT lightning. It works great with the stock (non driving light equipped) switch. I can still use the autolamp feature which turns on all lights with it. I put the driving lights as well as the high and low beams all on their own relays for a better direct connection and the ability to run high wattage bulbs without frying the harness or switch. Does anyone have a suggestion for the turn signals....I have clear bulbs in but they look quite golden compared to the rest of the clear bulbs.
