Running Light Indicator

Ok help. I just noticed that my running light (fog light) indicator is not working. The lights do work. I pulled out the switch and can see the LED. I have no problem pulling the switch apart.Does anyone know the rating of the LED? From looking at the schematics I believe it is 12 volts as it runs in parallel with the light circuit.

The generic box for the fog lamp section of the Main Light switch, shows a resistor in series with the LED. There is no value for the resistor, so I could not take a guess at what ratting is for the LED.

If you are going to take apart the switch, just get a 12 V LED, and remove the resistor from the circuit. On the trace, you would need to scratch the trace away from the resistor, and solder a jumper over it, or try to make the pins on the LED go to before the resistor, and the ending point.

Maybe trying to take a resistance reading from pin 2 to pin 6 on the Mainheadlamp switch ? Can't recall if this will work or not, but it might.
Pin 2 is the White with a black stripe wire, and pin 6 is the black wire.
Pins 2 & 6 are on the lower row of 6 pins, where the alightnment pins are for the connector hood.

Good luck, that might be a trying case to pull the switch apart, and solder in a new LED.

Well pulled the switch apart and one of the dang LED legs had come loose. Not soldered from the factory. I resoldered the leg and the light works. Thanks to all that gave me advice.
