9008/H13 Headlight replacement help

First off, just like to say Hi to all as I'm a newbie as of today.
I've been checking out this site and seems to be a pretty good wealth of info.

I'm sure this issue has been tossed around already a bit and did search through the forums for info on it without success. So I do apologize if I missed the topic.

Just wondering if anyone's found a "good" replacement for the standard 9008 bulb found in my 2005 F150. I had a 2004 Ranger and used the silverstar's and loved them. They put out a much brighter whiter light than the oem's do.

I've found crap one's on ebay and other sites, some claim to draw a standard wattage and then put out something like 170w. Needless to say I'm staying away from those as I don't want a melt down occuring next.

I've emailed sylvania and they have no plans on producing one because of some government regulation that is interfering I guess. Piaa doesn't seem to make one either. I'm wondering what is taking so long for a decent aftermarket bulb. I know these were in vehicles back from 2004 so, I don't get it.

Thanks all,

Todd.

check www.summitracing.com or www.jcwhitney.com

They'll have another brand you can buy. And the stuff on ebay isn't always cheap crap. Research the seller, email his past buyers and ask them. I have bought probably 20 sets of lights on ebay for different cars, and never had any blow or melt the harness.

I also have an '05 Screw, and was disappointed to find out they do not make silverstars in a 9008. But I found a pair of Luks on Ebay for a excellent price. They work and look great. Here is a link to the seller I got mine from. He sells the pair, both headlights and driving lights. It says for mustang, but they are the same for 05 F150's. Good Luck!!

H10/H13 Pair on Ebay
