Dumb Question
Dumb Question
This is probably a stupid question, but I need to make sure when I turn the ignition, the stereo, and amps dont come on. I am installing my programs from my XCal for the first time, and I dont know whether to pull the fuses out of the amps, or what, Im no stereo guy.....
If you really don't want your stereo to turn on, disconnect it. Pull the Head Unit out of the dash (You may need the tool from your dealership if it's a stock deck) and unplug it, then mount it back in the dash again. For the amps, just disconnect their power wires from the battery, wrap the metal terminals at the end of the wire in tape/cloth/whatever and tie wrap them to something so they don't get too close to the engine and melt.
or you could just pull the fuses
I like to overdo things.

Pull the fuses. They won't work without them, and you won't blow up or melt anything without power to them.
After you are done with the XCal load, and confirm the load per the instructions, turn the truck off, and put the fuses back in. Back to where you started.
