Fuel gauge problem
Fuel gauge problem
I have a '05 F-150, with a V6, 5 speed. I was backing into my driveway, and stalled it when i began to spin in the snow. Just before this happened, I had a little over 1/4 of a tank of gas. When I started it back up, the "low fuel" display came on, and the tone sounded. The gauge now shows just slightly above empty.
Has anyone else had this happen, or have any ideas on what it might be? I am going to call the dealer that sold me the truck, but was just wondering if it has happened to anyone else.
Thanks for any help.

The way that the float is on mine if I brake and I'm close to the low fuel limit, it will come on. It all has to do with gas sloshing around in the tank. Sincec the sensor feeds through the computer, it can get confused on the level, and err on the side of caution. Next time you start it up, it should return to the coreect reading.
