tail light problem

I have a 99 F150, I have an issue with my drivers side tail light. almost everything works on both sides including both of my blinkers, brake lights and reverse lights, the tail light works on the passenger side, just not on the drivers side, i have already put a new tail light in and that didnt solve the problem, any input would be appreciated, thanks

Let me confirm something before I offer some suggestions :

1. The brake lamp on both sides work ?
2. The reverse lamp on both sides work ?
3. The turn signal on both sides works ?

It seems as if the tail lamp section of the connector is not working then ?

If so :
1. have you checked the socket for corrosion ?
2. Have you used a meter to see if there is power in the connector for the tail lamp section ?
3. Have you checked the harness where is routes down towards the bottom to see if there are any pinches or breaks in the wire ?

Just want to get some base line info, prior to pointing you a specific way for diags.

Thanks

Got a chance to look at the 2001 EVTM, so the collors might not be the same as yours, but worth a look.

The tail lamps are Circuit 14, Brown wire. The only connector that shows is the bulb one behind the tail lamp cover. The driver's and pass tail lamps both go to splice #S115, which is the same splice that feeds the license plate lamps as well.

So with the pass side working, it seems that from splice S115 to the main light switch in the cab, via connector C158, works fine, if you pass side, and license plate lights work fine. Connector C158 is up under the hood of the truck, in the engine bay. Splice S115 also feeds the tailer tow runnign lamp relay, in the engine bay as well.

Take a look through the list above, and please keep in mind, these are from a 2001 EVTM, so it *could* be different then your year.

Good luck, let us know what you come up with.

Yes, it is just the tail lamp section on the drivers side that is not working, everything else works, i have checked the socket for corrosion and i have followed the wire back a little ways checking for any damage to the wire and i could not find any. it seems it might be a bit more complicated. any more info would be helpful, thanks
