Power plug Problems.
Power plug Problems.
Hi. I have 2 problems going on with my truck. It is a 2004 F150.
Hello, Hopefully someone on here can lend a helping hand.
My truck is a 2004 F-150 FX.
Problem #1- I blew the fuse for the dash accessory power plug. This happened months ago and I was lazy about fixing it. Today I replaced the fuse and still nothing. Test light reveals no power..
Problem #2 - This is similar. I was about to tap into the cigarette lighter blue/white wire to hardwire my new sirius radio. I unpluged the lighter from the back. Before I tapped into the wire I went back to make sure I was running the right polarity from the plug for the sirius to the lighter wire. The lighter socket is now dead.
The fuse is fine.
Is there some kind of reset or circut breaker? Like I said before I unplugged the lighter. I am positive that it worked prior(I tested it). Now that I plugged it back in it stoppped working.. The wires were never tapped. Thanks in advance for any light you may be able to shed.

Not sure if it will help much, but I installed XM into my '04 SCrew last week. I tapped into the big red one, and used a meter and tapoped into the blue/white myself. You should have 3 wires running to the lighter. I found out by trial and error that the blue/white wire is powered when you kick on the running lights. Everytime I turned the lites on, my XM died. I switched the ground wire over to the big black one at the bottom, and everything has been great ever since. Might lead to some insight as to why yours isn't working.
