Seatbelt Alarm!!

I know on the older f150s you can just push the seatbelt buckle to turn off the alarm but on the new ones there is no other way to turn that alarm off. Has anbody cut the wire to turn off the alarm permanently. If so which ones do you cut?

If yours is a newer model (04-05) inside the owners manual, there is a section that tells you how to turn that feature off. You have to insert and take off the belt a certain amount of times while the key is in the "on" position. Let me know if you don't have the manual and I can check the details.

I have followed the directions in the manual ( my dealer has also tried ) and no one is able to shut off the seatbelt alarm . I wear the belt when I am driving on the street , but I do a lot of stop and go on private property and it is a nuisance . I understand the plug is under the dash near the data port - what color is the wire ? I will unplug the wire or the alarm if necessary . Thanks .

I'd take it back to the dealer and tell them you want it fixed. Its their problem not yours. You shouldn't have to cut wires because when you follow fords directions it doesn't work.

I followed the directions in the owners manual and was able to turn the alarm off for the passengers side. I've tried to do the same for the drivers side but it hasn't worked & I've tried it several times....dang thing. BTW, I have an 2005.

If it is still under warranty...take it to your dealer and tell them to fix it.

I'll give it one more try & if fails to work I'll have the dealer fix it. I need to take it in anyway for some warranty work. The black lettering on the F150 badges is flaking off......go figure.

I read about the black lettering flaking off in another thread...that reminds me, I need to go out and check on mine.

The only alarm you can turn off is the one that comes on after you drive awhile. The first alarm you hear is the one telling you to buckle up.You cannot overide it.On my 06 SCrew I had to turn the key to run wait untill the red seat belt quit blinking then buckle and un buckle the belt 9 times within 50 seconds. Then watch the yellow air bag symbol flash I think four time then buckle and unbuckle one more time.Worked good.

Yep, that's the routine. It worked for my passengers seat but has failed to work for my driver seat.
