ok guys I had to work last night so i didnt have much time to mess with the truck. I am printing out this entire thread and will be taking all of the info with me to see what I can do.

PKRWUD, thanks for all the input. I think that picture might help a alot, as until now I really had nothing to go on visually.

OK after a long hiatus I finally figured the problem out. Last time the transmission fluid was changed, a wire was pinched inside the seal once the pan was replaced. It finally wore through enough of the insulation and began to short itself out. It took about 100 fuses and unhooking a bunch of harnesses before I could limit it to the transmission and then it was just dirty work till I found the bare wire. I repaired the wire and all is good again!

Thanks for all the help with this!

BTW the wire that was shorting was not listed on any of the wiring diagrams I have seen and therefore I have no real clue as to what the wire is for. But that might be some helpful info for someone in the future.

Glad you finally got her dun!

What color was that wire, and what did it appear to connect to??
