Analog Gauges Dead

Hi everybody!
While I was on the highway doing about 70 MPH, I had to break suddenly for perhaps what was only one second(to avoid crashing onto a Hayabusa doing about 120!). The truck dropped from 70 MPH to about 60 MPH, and that was it, so I kept going, BUT ALL MY GAUGES WENT DEAD IN THE SPLIT SECOND!
Now the speed, oil pressure, fuel, voltage and temp gauges DO NOT WORK. The needles are stuck at zero. I don't have a tach. Curiously enough, all the panel lights are OK. For the third time in 8 years I got the low fuel light to get me to the closest station(thank God). Seat belt light, parking brake light, and all the other lights show up OK when I switch in.
We stripped half the dash apart, checked all the fuses & relays, even a cable strip that runs under the steering wheel (that they say burns out from time to time)...NOTHING.
Does anybody know what may have caused this? I'm already out of options here...
1997 F-150 XL 4.2 V6...
Thank you guys, as always...
Robert
