Sensor for outside temp

On my 00 F 150 the outside temp gauge is sometime going bananas.
I think it's due to a contact on the sensor.
Can anybody tell me where it is located?

Remove the plastic filler under the hood that goes from the grill to the radiator. remaove the jack handle and then there are 8 plastic rivrts with plastic screws in the center. remaove the screws and the fasterners pull out. remove the cover and it mounts to the radiator support on the driver side. the sensor is pricy from Ford but is avalable in most auto parts stores the Borg-Warner part number is WT 381
