Fuse or ...?

I have an '04 FX4 that, if you read my previous few posts, I work like a truck. Shortly after I bought it one of my 12V outlets went out. The one in the rear passenger section works fine and the one that's a lighter works fine, but the one on the upper right that's an actual utility outlet on the dash is out. I just thought it was a bad outlet needing replaced. Someone suggested that maybe it's on a separate fuse. Is this true?

TIA
Brad

Did you look in your owners manual? There should be a diagram.

I guess the laziness in me prevailed. It was easier to type than put on clothes and go down to the garage.LOL

Well that would be the first place to look. I guarantee you'll find the answer there. And... you don't need clothes to go into your own garage.

Assuming rear power point and instument panel power point is what Ford calls those outlets, then all 3 12V outlets are on a separate 20A fuse. Hopefully that's my problem. This is the only problem I've had in 23K and I work my truck hard, I'm happy. Especially since it's probably my fault that it blew. I have a handsfree cell phone thing that allows you to plug into an outlet and it allows you to plug your charger into it. I'm sure that overloaded it. Same thing happened on my previous truck and I didn't make the connection. I thought I just ruined the outlet, didn't even think about just blowing a fuse.

Thanks guys
Brad

Well, if your lazy like me, you will download an owners manual from www.motorcraftservice.com in the owners section. It is in PDF format. No need to get dressed and go outside.
