Clutch Ignition Switch????
Got a '93 with a straight 6 & 5-speed. Last week all of a sudden it wouldn't start. All I could hear was the starter solenoid clicking when I turned the key. I replaced that and cleaned the corrosion off the battery terminals. Still would start. Found I could start it if I jumped it through the solenoid (put a screwdriver between the prongs on the solenoid). After awhile even that stopped working. Now I'm pretty sure the problem is when I press in the clutch it's not engageing the ignition switch. This is because sometimes if I monkey with the clutch I can get it so start. Can anyone tell me how to fix (or test) this switch. I assume the switch is electrical. (I suppose it could have to do with the hydraulic pressure in the clutch system, but that's an off the wall guess.)
Thanks for any help.

The switch should be mounted on/near the clutch support arm under the dash. Disconnect the two wires and put a jumper between the leads. Try to start the truck, if it starts, you have found the problem.
if you do that watch because the truck will now start in geer without pushing in the clutch just wanted to warn you incase you had kids or somthing. My nephew likes to play in my truck and one day he almost started it b/c i have my switch hooked up like that
