Disabling the Key in the ign and door open chime?

I need to disable the chime that goes off when you open the door with the key in the ignition. I looked in the manual and didn't see it. Can it be done with a code?

Are you talking about just when the key is in the ignition or when it is turned to the Aux position??

Regardless, there is no "code" to eliminate this - you will have to do some type of mdification depending on which situation you are inquiring about.

Thanks,

Just when the key is in the ignition. Out west hunting I leave the keys in the truck and I hate the dinging when I'm hunting.

Take the keys out of the ignition and drop them in the cupholder.

Exclamation Stop all door chiming

If you want to stop the dinging no matter what position the key is in, and you wish to leave your door open, Such as if you were detailing your interior.

Do the following:
On the door flip the latch from the open position not once but twice and the door will think it is closed and latched properly even tho it is latched around nothing.

Remember to make sure to flip it back, sometimes i like the aid of a screwdriver or my key to flip it back open and you can open the outside door handle to help get it moving....

Feel free to ask me to describe it better and maybe i can snap a few pics later this weekend.

Lata,
-Patrick
