Entire right side lighting gone

1997 F 150 XL 4x4 with 4.6L.

Just today, I went to make a right turn and my signal light inside the truck was going nuts, just super fast, then the left side was normal and slower. When I went to the back of the truck after I once again turned the right signal on to that fast clicking, there was no blinking on the actual tail light. Aftwards, I was told that might actual brake light and stuff wasn't working on the right side either.

Tomorrow morning I will check if the front right is like that too but does anyone know what could be wrong? Is it just a fuse or something? If so, where is the fuse and is it just simple plug in type which makes it easy?

My bet is you will find a bulb with a shorted filiment or a poor ground.

But my brake and reverse light work on that side. Also, the front signal seems to work but blinks at that super fast speed like it sounds inside the truck. Everything else is fine. Seems for sure the signal bulb is gone, I'll put in a new bulb tomorrow and see if that fixes it, if not, I'll have to phone Ford and see where the fuse is.

Its not a biggie, just replace the bulb. The flasher has less resistance from not having the rear bulb using energy. That causes the filiment to heat up faster and open up, thus causing the rapid flashing. Do yourself a favor and replace both rear bulbs. They do the same amount of work generally and tend to go out one after the other. Just easier to deal with all at once since you have the tool out anyway.

Tool out? I have never truly looked up close at my lights. There isn't any special tool is there? Just a normal screwdriver?
