Odometer
Well last time I looked it was electronic driven.
The signal comes from the VSS sensor to a module that drives the electric digital display.
Removing that sensor connector would take away signals the PCM uses for many other operations such as shifting the trans, cruise control and other operations.
If your wanting to kinda fool for actual mileage, they make it hard to do because of legal and insurence requirements not to mention resale value etc.
Maybe some one has a different take on this.

Next to impossable. It is fully electronic. If you want to spend some bucks you can invest in a professional odbII scanner that allows two way communication and reprogram the odo to a diffrent milage. Your talking about a factory scanner so if you could get one your looking at several thousand. Might check local speedo shops and see if anyone makes an aftermarket scanner that allows reprogramming. I know for a fact that the only moving mechanical part in the whole mess is the gear drive in the trans to the speed sensor. You can't mess with it because the speed sensor is needed for the PCM to control everything from engine timing to shift points.
