hi guys, i live in the caribbean and own a 1997 F150 with a 6 inch lift. I love the truck but i have lost my spare keys this weekend. I had lost the main set about 6 months ago. The locksmith here doesn't carry Ford type keys and we have no real Ford Dealer. This island is mostly Jap cars so i wasn't able to get a spare cut. Also, the security feature key ring is gone. What do i do? Can a dealer in the us get more keys and security key ring if i give Vin # and registration info? If not is there a way to turn off the security system once i change all the locks and ignition?

Try to find a Ford dealer with a 800 number. Call em & ask if you fax your title will they cut you some keys. Be prepared for sticker shock. They're a little leary of cuting keys unseen because of theft.

 

in your owners manual, you might have the key code for your truck, plastic bar code located in the folder for your manual, any Ford dealers in Trinadad, BVI, ect that can help you out?

 

thanks, i am gonna look right now. just took the lock off the door and will take it to a locksmith in town who says he thinks he can do something. I had a key ring with lock unlock and panic buttons. When i opened the truck the panic feature started going off.......was this an aftermarket thing on the 97 pickups or was that a standard feature? How can i disable it?
