left signal keeps blowing fuses

My father owns a 99 F150 4x4 with the 4.6 liter. He has been experiencing problems lately with a fuse blowing. He says it seems to blow when he turns on his left turn signals. I beleive he said that this fuse, which controls the turn signals, also controls the Cruise Control!! That got me concerned. He says that he has not had any problems with his cruise, but yet he does not use it much at all!! Also, he said it was a 20amp fuse originally. HE REPLACED IT WITH A 25AMP!!!! STILL BLOWING FUSES!! I told him of the cruise control issues. Any of you guys experieced this? Any suggestions?? I'm also posting this in the safety/recall section..

Thanks,

I am experiencing the same problem as we speak. Not only does it control the turn signals and cruise, but also controls the BRAKE LIGHTS! I have replaced all bulbs, the flasher twice, been through many fuses. Have removed the multi function swith and replaced it. The last time it worked for a week. I am also looking for some assistance as to a common place for a short. I was told that the trailer wiring is the most common. I will repost if I find my problem.

I also have a 99 F-150 XLT with the left turn signal issue. I have done everything I could read or think of to figure it out. Disconnected the speed control, no change, replace flasher relay, no change, replace multifunction switch, no change...
Ok so here is the catch. If my drivers door was open, the left turn signal would work and not blow the fuse. So of course I thought Hey... I fixed it... Only to get in the Truck and do a test drive and blow the fuse at the first LEFT turn. So I came back to the House changed out the fuse (drivers door Open) tested it and it would work. So I left the left turn signal on and said Im gonna drive till I find out what is causing it. AS soon as I closed my drivers door the fuse blew... IF I replace the fuse, the right turn signal works fine as do the breaks, but something about the drivers door closing and the left turn signal on blows the fuse.
If someone can tell me what the connection is, I can stop pulling out my hair, or figuring out how to go somewhere using only right turns...LOL
I though the other 2 posting here might be able to chack and see if they are also having the door issue.
