Postive Battery Cable replacement. Ground help?
Postive Battery Cable replacement. Ground help?
Okay, so there I was unable to start my '98 F-150 4.6L just like every other Joe Ford owner and I go to disconnect the cable and pull out the starter and voila, I broke the smaller + cable to the solenoid. Well I get it out finally and see the bare corroded broken cable from the solenoid to the motor itself. Either way, I knew I had to replace the starter motor.
Ordered it. As I try to disconnect the screw, which is still on the cable, I decide it isn't coming off. Fortunately I had already purchased a Postive Battery Cable about 5 years ago, when I had this similiar problem, so I had a backup.
Put the positive cable back on and I am all set for the starter motor to go back on, except the - ground wire from the starter motor to the firewall.
Where does it go/did it go? The previous one had broken off, so now I am somewhat stumped. I suppose I can just hack it and find a spot, but I would much prefer the factory location.
Any help is appreciated and Thanks in advance, in case I forget to reply!
