Power Lock Problem
Power Lock Problem
Hello
I've recently noticed some strange behavior with my power door locks.
When the button is pressed and HELD down, they continually cycle trying to lock the door over and over, even though it's already locked. Before, I believe when I pressed the button, they would just try to lock once.
The same occurs in the unlock cycle. If the button is held down, it seems the cycle continues to try to unlock the door continually.
Any insight appreciated.
Thanks all,
mw

Yes if you keep doing that for a period of time you will burn out the acuators on the locks. I know this because one of my nephews done this to my truck and it quit working a shorttime latter. I still haven't been able to get my sister to give me the money to fix it as of yet it has been 2 years so I probable will never get it fixed at least its the passenger door that quit working so i don't worry about it.
Similar problem
I experience a similar problem. My '97 door locks will cycle a couple of times automatically when I start the truck. So far nothing catastrophic and it only happens every now and then. Seeing all of these different topics on electrical problems scares me.
I have a 1998 f150 and my power windows are taking turns not working. One day both may not work then a few hours later driver side may work then passenger may work then they may both stop again. Anyone out there ever seen this? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
