Question Blower fan speed question.

Hi guys. I would like to see if any of you might have a idea where to look at for a blower fan speed problem.
This is on a 1999 F150. The speed positions "low", "2", and "high" work fine, however the setting "3" is the same speed as setting "2".
Might this be a switch related problem, or maybe somewhere else, like the resistors?
Thanx for any input.

Hey there CTX. You most likely have a problem with the switch. If the resistor for 3rd speed had burned out, you wouldn't have any speeds slower than the resistor that blew. Since the only speed you don't have is 3rd, the most likely cause is that the switch is open when in the 3rd position (contacts not making contact, or broken contact etc...). Try the switch first, good luck.

Thumbs up Fixed

Flaresidejay, it was the switch, like you said. I removed it, opened it up, and found the connection pad inside the switch for that speed setting had overheated sometime in the past, and the pad had a broken connection with the rest of the terminals it was supposed to be in connection with.

Replaced the switch and all is well now.

$10 fix.

Thanks
