Anyone ever had this problem? When in OD, and Reverse my backup lights come on. When I bought the truck origionally the guy told me something in the tranny him and his buddy were messing with and he said something about some kind of brass gears, that he didnt want to mess with. Did he really change something internally? Or do I have a faulty switch? For the time being, i disconnected the switch so as to not get pulled over for driving forward in reverse.. lol any ideas would be great thanks..

There is a neutral safty switch on the transmission that may have a problem.
This operates the backup lites.

 

Well I'm assuming that is what the plug I disconnected, plugs into. But I was thinking it was just a normal on / off type switch.. At any rate, I suppose it would be easy to just replace it, and find out if it worked. I'll keep ya updated, and thanks.
