no tachometer in the xl

I have a heritage stx XL that i got about a year ago. It's a 5 Spd but it came with no tachometer. What's Ford's reasoning behind this? I guess it's probably saving money, but it seems rather silly to sell a 5spd with no tach.

Tach = $1. 900,000 F-150s without tachs = $900,000 saved LOL.
