On my 99f150, my drivers side door lock motor wont push up the lock anymore with keyless remote. Thought it was sticking so lubed it. the more I push the button the less it works. Passenger side works great. Do I need to replace motor or could it be something else? Is this hard to do? thanks!

 

Sounds like the lock actuator is going south. They can be kinda tricky to remove, it's easiest to remove the door latch, or at least unbolt it from the door so you can kinda twist it around and release the clips holding the actuator to the latch.

 

My controls all work on the drivers side, and move the pass side fine (lock, and unlock). Also, my remote works both sides fine.

Problem is:
Pass side switch (for locks) doesnt lock, or unlock.

Bad Switch??

summbear: Quintin is right, your actuator is most likely the culprit as quite a few us with the same problems have needed help and a couple of write ups on the subject have been posted on how to repair (not difficult by any means but very time consuming) the actuators. A new one will run you forty to fifty on ebay and take you an hour or two to put on and that's just if you have fat hands like me.

jjmIII: Just in case you haven't checked it yet, gently pry up your lock switch panel on that door and check that the connection is tight and corrosion free...if it is then most likely the line has gone bad, the switch box on the back is probably not the reason but eliminate the line first as it is much more of a hassle to fix the line than to buy a new switchplate.

My money's on your actuator as well. It's funny I'd say our trucks were made by the same person or robot!!!

 

Is the actuator the same as the switch??
