Code for the Remote Door entry

Bought a used X and I don't have the 5 digit code to open or close the locks from the door remote.

I found the code on my F150, under dash by steering box on the fire wall.

Can't find it on the X.

Any help would be Great

Thanks, Mark Keller

Look for your electronic control module (computer) it should have the 5 digit number affixed onto it.

It should be located under the left side of the instament pannel, way above the fuse box and above the e brake. Up at the level of the headlight switch, It's a real tough place to see anything under there.

What year is the explorer?

In the 2nd generation Explorers, (95-01) it's in the jack compartment, up towards the front on a white box with a sticker on the front. You may need a mirror and flashlight to see it.

The code on the Excursion is programmed into the GEM module. There is no way to find the code besides going to the dealer and having them hook up to it with the WDS. Sorry for the bad news. If you got the owners manual with it, you might want to look in there for the card that has the number on it.
