EVTM Wiring diagram help needed.

Hi,

I would like to have the schematics all the way from the brakepedal to the taillights, can someone help me with this?

I am converting the taillights from american to european standard.
(yellow turn signal back).
Need to separate brake from turn.

Thanks
Martin

This is a tall order to do on a board.
Looking up the circuit; the stop/ turn function is a double filiment bulb each side with a red lens for both functions, as you know.
I would consider making the backup bulbs, the turn signals, by rewiring at the housing, using yellow bulbs and mounting seperate backup lamps under the rear bumper.
I used 55 watt lamps and now have lots of light for backup use. Be awhere using such high power lamps requires a relay and heavey feed wire for that much current because the stock wire is to small unless the stock sized bulbs are used..
Hope this gives you some help with it.
The color codes for the left turn bulb feed is LT GN/OR.
For the right side , OR/LT BLU.
You need to preserve your 4 way flash, i'm sure.
Backup code is blk/pink. Use this lead to control a relay passing new power from a fused heavey lead from the battery to the new lights, if large ones are used.

I think i found the sollution (havn't tried it yet).
At C253 (or C258) on page 90-1, cut line 511 (LG).
Line 511 comes from brake pedal switch and leads inte a lot of things, among them the multi function switch located at C258.

I then draw a new line from 511 to the rear stop lights.
This should make the old line for stop/turn to work only when you turn or use hazard.
No additional fuses or relays will have to be added as stop and turn draws current from different fuses in the fuse panel.

Why I am doing this is because within the european union you must have yellow rear turn lights, unless this car is antique, in Sweden if its made before 1975.

Will come back with result.

Yepp,

It works fine now! Old stop/turn/park bulb is now used as stop/park and a new yellow bulb is used as turn.

The cut at C253 also disables electronic brake at the trailer outlet, but since we do not have this kind of braking systems on trailers in this part of the world, there is no problem.

/Martin

(Trailers for cars and smaller trucks use a braking system where a hudraulic piston compresses during braking due to the force of the trailer and causes the brakes on trailer to engage.

On bigger trucks pneumatic brakes are used.)
