Wiper Control Module

On the 94 F150 there is a "wiper control module" located behind the glove box. In fact to get to it you have to remove the glove box. Does anyone know what this thing does? I'm having some funky problems with my wiper system and would just like to know what this thing does.

I used to have a 94 E250 work van,,, it had to have the wiper module replaced twice because of water leaking out of the airconditioner vents, onto the module, when the drain clogged up.
The module has the relay circuit in it to turn on the wiper motor and control the intermittent wiper timing function.
When it went bad the wipers would start up while you were driving and the wiper switch was off,,, also the intermittent setting wouldnt work sometimes,, and sometimes the wipers would quit working when you had them on. ..

On the second module replacement, our mechanics sealed the module box with rtv,,,, that coupled with dilligent drain cleaning cleared the problem.
