Won't Start

I have a 1997 F-150 that suddenly will not nstart. I have lots of battery power and the engine won't even crank. Nothing happens. It is like the security system is reading that it is being stolen. When I lock my doors and open from the inside the alarm does not go off. The theft light does come on when i lock the doors. Is there a kill switch I might have accidently touched

Don't think there's a secret switch anywhere, but there seem to be lots of folks with problems with starter/solenoids/cables .

Had a problem with mine about two months ago... lots of power but wouldn't crank. Battery wiring harness was the culprit.

No kill switch on a basic factory secutiry system. Is your "alarm" an aftermarket unit? If so, it likely has a starter kill switch/relay.

Is your truck PATS equipped? If so, what does the theft light do when the key is inserted and turned to RUN? If not, disregard this paragraph.

Really need more information about your vehicle before an intelligent diagnostic attempt can be made. The possibilities are quite large.

Thank everyone for your help. I towed it to my mechanic and it turned out to be a wire on the starter that came loose. The mechanic said he had never seen this before. I know he is being honest as he never charged me anything for it as it took him about 5 minutes total to repair it.
