Auxiliary 12V wiring

I am trying to install an auxiliary 12V adaptor (cigarette lighter adaptor). I am trying to avoid wiring this directly to the battery. What other ways can I do this? Is there room in the fuse panel to wire this to a fuse? What size fuse do I need? I am thinking a 12 Amp fuse but not sure. I have never tried anything like this so I am pretty dumb when it comes to this. I say this so you will be detailed in your answer. Thanks

I dont know about your truck but in mine when we wire extra stuff we just use an existing fuse. for example i put some hella lights on and used the power seat fuse. for something else we used the tralier break controller fuse. its all up to you man just look at the fuses in the owners manual and see which onesare used and which arent.
