Gauges all outta wack

I absolutely hate the green Ford put into its guages. And everything else in my truck I have turned to blue. So what I decided to do, was put some F150 gauges in a Lightning, get the tubo meter in a pod, and change the spedometer. It would have been prfect... except I made some mistakes along the way.

This first pic shows the gear selector was removed to fit hte truck, because the gear selector and the gauges are sperate.

This shows the back side of the panel. Showing that the ggreen backing is what the umbers are written on. The piece of material is no osmething that could be removed, because it feels like everything on that back side is all one piece of whatever. All connceted.

This picture shows what teh new gauges look like. They light up blue, which is good, but the needles don't. So I constantly have to turn on the light to read it.

The tachometer is clunky, the speedometer rarely gets under 20mph, it's whatever it feels like that day, 2 gauges are completely deactivated, and the turbometer isn't connected, so I always have a soft hissing sound in my truck from air escaping from the supercharger. The only thing that works is the gas gauge.

Well the company that installed all this, would only take cash, and did not have me sign anything to keep it there overnight. Should ahve been tale-tale signs to abort mission. And then to make matters worse, they had it parked outside, with the windows down, with the subs in the back. So when I pulled up, I could see that a lot of stuff wasn't working. But still wouldn't let me get it without paying.

So I went to Ford, and asked them how much it owuld be to start over. They say $281, or $581 if they decide to stick a goofy $300 fee on it. Any help I could get would be awesome because I do not want to pay $581 to start over, I just want blue gauges. Thanks in avance

Hm...I could have sworn I wrote about this in another forum

Sounds like your gauge needles weren't put on correctly when they were popped off for the overlay change-out.

Since you have the digital speedo...what I suggest you do is remove the lexan/plexiglass cover that goes over the gauges and then pop off the needles. Using the speedo display diagnostics (hold the trip reset button down when starting up the truck) you should be able to get most of the readings you need to set the speedo and tach up right. Same goes for the voltage and oil pressure. Fill up the gas tank (use two click-offs) and put your needle on full and that should get you close enough.
