Foglights and Stuff
This is my first post and I bow to all the good advice I have received from the Sr. members by reading thier posts.
I believe the Foglight issue has been well informed and the Switch modification was very easy. My new switch was 34.75 with tax and the longest thing about the whole deal was getting around to glueing it back together because i was showing my friends the cut in the ramp and how it worked. If anyone needs one..email me..anyway..
As far as the wiring modification...well here goes.. Jumping the White/w black to the brown is not a good thing by itself. Looking at the Haynes repair manual page number 12-24 you can see that the white/w black is on its own 5 amp curcuit to the foglamp relay and when its jumped directly to the brown, thats the 15 amp hot to the marker lights...so in a situation where it did want to get hot and let go..your stuffing the 15 amps right down its throat and it will never have a chance.
So whats the fix? Un jump it and see if the foglights still work if so then ok....if not replace the 5 amp and get everything back on right ... then just place a 7 amp fuse in the jump wire and close it all back up... From the on out i believe you probaly wont ever have to replace any of the fuses and everything can take the load..the only way you'll ever know if the 7 has popped is when you go to the high beams and the foglights turn off like they are suppose to..
