guage cluster question

I have a 2000 Ford F-150 XLT w/4.2 six cylinder and auto transmission. Immediately after start-up all of my guages max out (every needle goes as far right as possible) then go dead (all needles as far left as possible) then come up reading normal. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon and if so is it a precursor to a larger problem? Thanks for the input.

Full sweep of the guages indicates that the PCM is resetting when you crank the truck. Clean battery terminals, have battery load tested. Probably time for a new battery.
